Using Webmail

 

  1. Open up IE (if you use other browsers, you will see a different webmail interface with fewer features.)
  2. Go to http://www.yourwebsiteaddress.com:3000,(make sure you have the http:// infront of your address) log in using your Full email address as the username and then fill in the password field
  3. You should see a screen similar to the following picture (click for a larger view)

This is a fairly close re-creation of Outlook. If you are comfortable with that, it should not take long to get used to webmail. If you are wondering why all of your messages are not here, they are removed from the server when Outlook downloads them, and this Webmail runs from the server. Contact nick@300x.ca or tom@fifthav.com if you would like messages to stay on the server. The only folders you should be concerned with are Inbox, Drafts, Sent Items, Deleted Items, and Junk Email.

Inbox is where new emails will show up, drafts are messages you have written that you have decided to keep for now, sent items is the list of emails you have sent, deleted items is like the recycle bin - a safety measure to prevent accidental permanent deletion, and Junk email where spam may show up. You should frequently check Junk email and the recycle bin.

From left to right the buttons are:

Hitting the New Email button will cause this window to pop up. If it does not and you see a yellow bar show up in IE, click that bar and select 'Always allow popups from this site'.
